The plot of Challengers comes down to one idea and one idea only: Would you throw away everything for Zendaya? Yes, there’s tennis and churros and an insane score, but that sentiment is at the core of everything in this new fun-as-hell Luca Guadagnino film.
For a while now, Taylor Eisenhauer, Antara Sinha and I have discussed doing a draft in which we all pick Movie Characters We Would Throw Our Life Away For and this seemed as good a hook as any.
Like always, there are plenty of tangents and yelling, but we also were all (kind of) able to pick five characters who we would change our lives for … forever. Romantically, physically, emotionally. Whatever.
